Sumanta Bose joined as a Member of BCCC on 01 April 2024.
At Disney Star for more than a decade, Sumanta has been the Business Head for Star Plus and Star Utsav. He oversees content development for Star Plus, Star Jalsha, and Disney+ Hotstar Hindi Specials. His extensive tenure imbues him with invaluable expertise and deep industry knowledge, establishing him as a highly accomplished leader known for strategic prowess and effective leadership.
Sumanta began at Star India as Marketing Head for Star Jalsha; he later took on the roles of overall business head and channel GM for Star Jalsha and Jalsha Movies. His approach revolutionized the Bengali General Entertainment space, establishing Jalsha as an unrivalled market leader with iconic shows and beloved characters.
Sumanta was entrusted with additional responsibilities last year, including oversight of content, marketing, and insights for Bengal and Odia regional markets, along with serving as Content Leader for Hotstar Specials in Hindi.
Sumanta holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Calcutta University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management (Marketing) from IISWBM, Kolkata.
