Mr. Priyank Kanoongo, Chairperson, NCPCR
After serving as a Member of NCPCR, Mr. Kanoongo, who holds a B.Sc. in Microbiology, was appointed the fifth Chairperson of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights in November 2018. Mr Kanoongo comes from Madhya Pradesh where he was looking after education of children who were out of school and their reintegration into the mainstream education system.
As a Member of NCPCR from November 2015 to November 2018, he looked after the Commission’s Education Division. In order to achieve the mandate of NCPCR, he is closely monitoring the effective implementation of Right to Education, JJ Act, POCSO Act and Child Labour Act. He is actively involved in undertaking various consultations with stakeholders on regional & national level and undertaken various studies and special investigations in the field of Child Rights.
He joined as a Member of BCCC on December 13, 2018.
