Anil has almost two decades of experience which includes his stints across various media organisations. He is presently the General Counsel of Viacom18. He has a well-rounded experience in handling content advisory, standards and practices, contracts, litigation, regulatory and IP protection for all facets of media businesses including broadcasting, OTT, Music, News, Sports, Live and consumer products. He also manages the standards and practices function of Viacom18, which advises the production and programming teams of Viacom18 and enables them to bring challenging subjects to the screen and at the same time balance it with compliance of laws and the self-regulatory guidelines.
Prior to Viacom18, he also served as the Group General Counsel for Zee Entertainment and Zee News spearheading legal function along with standards and practices for the group. He has been an active participant in the regulatory journey of the media industry since 2006. In his various roles, he has participated in consultation processes held by the Government through bodies like IBDF, FICCI and IAMAI.
Anil has also done his post-graduation in Media Laws from NALSAR University.
